Not So Signature Dinner

We invite you to join Chef James London of Charleston’s Chubby Fish and Chef Melissa Perello of San Francisco’s Frances as they come together (virtually!) to recreate one of Charleston Wine + Food’s most sought-after dining experiences.

Taking place in some of Charleston’s most celebrated dining rooms, the traditional Charleston Wine + Food Signature Dinner pairs a local chef + restaurant with a nationally acclaimed out-of-town chef for a multi-course dining experience. While this dinner may be Not So Signature (since both chefs won’t be cooking together in the same kitchen here in Charleston), it will feature a five-course tasting menu that blends both chef’s unique flavors + cooking styles, available for one night only in both dining rooms. This coast-to-coast dining experience will be one you don’t want to miss.

This five-course tasting menu will blend both chef’s unique flavors + cooking styles. Beverages can be purchased à la carte from each restaurant menu.

Oysters, summer corn + shrimp fritters, local fish crudo

Tuna Confit

Served with grilled potato salad and tonnato

Squid Ink Spaghetti

With charred shishito peppers and bottarga

Fish Bo Ssam

With herbs + sauces

Reservations can be requested via email and will be confirmed in the order they are received. In your email, please include your name, party size, contact phone number, and if you have any food allergies that the chef should be aware of. A member of the team at Chubby Fish will call you to confirm your reservation, and you will be asked to provide a credit card at this time. You will not be charged until the night of the dinner, and will be able to adjust the credit card at the time of the event should you wish.


Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the event. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the event will be charged $75 per person to the credit card on file.

Once the event sells out, Chubby Fish will run a waitlist. Should a cancellation occur, you will be notified via the phone number provided in your reservation request email. 

The full wine + beer menu will be available for purchase. The team at Chubby Fish will note suggested wine pairings.

If you would like to request to be seated with another party, this can be done via email. Please include both parties name + size to ensure the appropriate number of seats are reserved together. The team at Chubby Fish will do their best to accommodate, but we emphasize this is only a request.

Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the seating. Guests will be asked to wait outside until that time, and limited beverage offerings will be available while waiting.

This dinner will be served family style.


Reservations can be made online. The Not So Signature Dinner will be listed under “Experiences” as a special event within the reservation portal; you will be required to provide a credit card to reserve your ticket and will be charged in full at the time of purchase. You will choose indoor or outdoor seating when making your reservation.


Reservations may be cancelled for a full refund up to 72 hours in advance by email. Reservations will not be cancelled or refunded within 72 hours of the event.

You will select a seating time upon booking your reservation. The dinner will last approximately 2 hours from the start of your reservation.

If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions that the chef should be aware of, these must be communicated at least 48 hours in advance via email.

Beverage pairings will be an additional charge, and guests are also able to order beverages à la carte.

If you would like to be seated with another party, we strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets together. If tickets are purchased separately, please email the restaurant to request the seating arrangement. The team at Frances will do their best to accommodate, but we emphasize this is only a request.
