The influence of Indigenous people on Lowcountry food culture is little documented, but powerful nonetheless. We’ll explore the Native American connection to the region by visiting culturally significant locations. Guests will get insights into how the Lowcountry’s first inhabitants hunted, gathered, and cooked. Enjoy a meal prepared by Mohawk chef and Indigenous foods instructor,  Dave Smoke McCluskey, featuring ingredients that would have been available to our first people.

Your Day Trip Itinerary: 

• You’ll start your day with a bite + sip as you board the shuttle departing from CHSWF Shuttle Hub to travel to historically significant Indigenous locations. 
• Once you arrive, we’ll embark on a tour of culturally relevant locations, and learn about their archaeological significance. 
• Guests will wind their ways through a full day of tastes, sips and learnings designed to illuminate.
• The final stop is a full meal, presented by Dave Smoke McCluskey, with beverage pairings and the fine art of conversation.
