Charleston Wine + Food

The programming at Charleston Wine + Food is a compilation of this community and the stories, people, and businesses that encompass it. Today we’re spotlighting our Hub venues for the 2023 Festival, serving as destinations for all things libations, cooking, and hospitality.

Iron Rose Bar & Restaurant

At the intersection of Queen + Meeting Streets you’ll find the beautiful newly-renovated Mills House and Iron Rose Bar & Restaurant – the festival’s 2023 Beverage Hub and destination for all things libations. Tucked inside the walled courtyard at The Mills House, Iron Rose brings elevated Southern Coastal fare and well-crafted cocktails to the historic French Quarter. Locals and visitors enjoy indoor and outdoor courtyard dining, perfect for passing a pleasant hour for breakfast, dinner, and any time in between. At the newly reimagined Mills House – Charleston’s famous “pink hotel” – you’ll find Southern traditions with a modern twist and a taste of everything that makes the Holy City special.

Book your stay at The Mills House, stop in for a bite + beverage, and explore the beverage workshops taking place at Iron Rose Bar & Restaurant.

Culinary Institute of Charleston

We’re thrilled to be back at the Culinary Institute of Charleston this year with a delicious lineup of hands-on classes. The Culinary Institute of Charleston at Trident Technical College plays an integral role in the Lowcountry’s hospitality + tourism industry; it provides students with the technical skill sets needed by our industry + community, and gives students viable options when seeking employment in this highly competitive field.

The Culinary Institute of Charleston’s downtown Palmer Campus will be the host of six hands-on classes celebrating flavors from Chinese scallion pancakes to Puerto Rican funnel cakes and techniques from knife skills to oyster shucking; This is where the future of the culinary industry is built and we can’t wait for our guests to get in on the action.

Tickets are still available to Rice: The Global Grain, which will be led by Chef Kevin Mitchell – Chef Instructor at the Culinary Institute of Charleston and Charleston Wine + Food Board Member – and friends. Let’s get cooking!

Charleston Visitor Center

All aboard! Guests who are attending one of the Festival’s educational Excursions or looking for a lift to the Culinary Village will depart from the Excursion + Shuttle Hub. Newly renovated, the centrally located Charleston Visitor Center is in the heart of historic downtown Charleston and a stone’s throw away from many favorite restaurants, bars, shops, and experiences the City has to offer.

If you’re looking to park, fest, and enjoy the best of all that the City of Charleston has to offer, your experience exploring Charleston will start at the Visitor Center. Pro tip: you can also visit for information and tour + attraction tickets. The offices are open daily from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

High Wire Distilling Co.

The Hospitality Hub is a place for our participating talent to rest + mingle with peers. We are thrilled to offer a unique + refreshing space at High Wire Distilling where they can take a much-deserved break during the festival week. This space will be chock-full of delicious bites + sips – with daily coffee + refreshments served up as complimentary grab + go fuel – and a Talent Taxi will make round-trip shuttle service to the Culinary Village and off-site prep + batching kitchen.

Located in the heart of downtown Charleston, High Wire Distilling Co. is dedicated to making premium, small batch spirits with a culinary approach. Looking to experience it for yourself? A few tickets remain to Meet the Browns, hosted at High Wire Distilling on Thursday, March 2.
