While today may be National Margarita Day, we fully support drinking a margarita any day of the week. Morgan Hurley of Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is giving this classic tequila cocktail a bright + colorful twist.
YIELD:
1 drink
RECIPE:
1 ½ oz tequila
½ oz fresh blood orange juice
½ oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz simple syrup
1. Juice a few limes and blood oranges. Pro tip: bring your fruit to room temperature before juicing.
2. Grab a cocktail shaker, put on your favorite song, add all the ingredients with ice and shake vigorously for 5-10 seconds.
3. Rim ½ of the cocktail glass of your choice with salt + fill with fresh ice.
4. Strain the cocktail into your glass + enjoy!
