Travis Croxton is co-owner of Rappahannock Oyster Company and multiple restaurants under the Rappahannock Restaurant Group umbrella. Travis and his cousin, Ryan, operate oyster farms in three locations across the Chesapeake Bay. They also own restaurants across the country, including Rappahannock Oyster Bar in Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Charleston, SC as well as Rappahannock Restaurant in Richmond, Merroir in Topping and an upcoming outpost in Dulles International Airport opening in June 2024. Croxton’s accomplishments have garnered him recognition as an innovator in the culinary world; He was a recipient of the 2005 Tastemaker’s Award from Food & Wine magazine and in 2013 was recognized by Zagat as one of the “24 Restaurant-World Power Players Around the U.S.” In 2014, Esquire named his Rappahannock as one of 12 Best New Restaurants in the country. Most recently, Travis has been appointed by various Governor's of Virginia to the Virginia Aquaculture Council, the Council On Bridging The Nutritional Divide and the Virginia Agricultural Council.
