Tiffanie Barriere, known as “The Drinking Coach,” is a trailblazing influencer, educator, and bartender’s bartender. Celebrated for her impactful work in the beverage industry, she has received prestigious accolades such as the 2023 Bartender of the Year Award from Women of Whiskey and the 2023 Tales of the Cocktail Visionary Award. Barriere is also the proud recipient of the Tastemakers of the South Award and the inaugural Toni Tipton-Martin Award from the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Barriere is BarSmarts and Bar 5 certified and served as Beverage Director at the award-winning One Flew South in Atlanta International Airport.
As an African American cocktail historian, Barriere’s research and storytelling have elevated the cultural significance of cocktails. She is a sought-after speaker at esteemed events, including the Southern Foodways Alliance Symposium and the James Beard House. Her work and innovative cocktail recipes have been featured in major publications like Forbes, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and Southern Living. In 2021, Barriere graced the cover of Imbibe magazine as one of the featured bartenders in their annual “Imbibe 75” list.
Barriere has judged international spirits competitions and appeared on national TV shows such as the “Today Show” and Netflix’s “Drink Masters.” She has collaborated with top spirits brands and to create seasonal cocktails from the Super Bowl to the James Beard House.
Committed to education, service, and fun, Barriere co-chairs several industry committees, including Atlanta’s A Sip of Paradise Gardens and the Tales of the Cocktail Catalyst Honors. She continues to inspire and mentor some of the world’s best bartenders and mixologists, championing the contributions and stories of Black women in the spirits and beverage industry.
