Capt. Tom Bierce founded Charleston Oyster Farm in 2015 to become the first oyster farm in Charleston. They now supply many area restaurants with premium single oysters harvested and delivered same day. "Our industry is in the unique position of being on the forefront of sustainable aquaculture practices that actually benefit the areas farms like ours occupy". Tom has degrees are in marine science and coastal geology and is passionate about teaching people about the many ecosystem services oyster farms provide through the year round tours conducted at the farm in the Stono River. Located between Folly Beach and Kiawah just a few miles from the inlet to the Atlantic Ocean these oysters are known for their consistent brine, beautiful sturdy shells and plump meat.
