Sal Lamboglia is the chef-owner of Cafe Spaghetti, his ode to the classic neighborhood Italian restaurant, nestled in the heart of Carroll Gardens. Born and bred in Brooklyn to a first-generation family of culinary craftsmen, Lamboglia is a youthful relic of New York’s rich Italian-American heritage. With a chef for a father and butchers and bakers for his uncles, Lamboglia has been exposed to cooking all his life, and decided to continue in their footsteps. The Art Institute of New York graduate spent 15 years as an integral player on Chef Andrew Carmelini’s team – where he opened Locanda Verde, The Dutch, Lafayette, and led the Bar Primi team as chef-partner for seven years. Lamboglia has been featured in publications like Tasting Table, The New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine and received Zagat’s ‘30 Under 30’ award in 2013.
