Peter was born and raised in North Augusta, South Carolina and is a graduate of Clemson University. Always with an inquisitive mind, he started homebrewing in college before transitioning to distilling. Before graduating college, he began his professional distilling career making whiskey in Greenville, SC. His desire to learn and grow led him to the Cayman Islands to distill rum and vodka. After his time in the Caymans, he moved to Hilton Head Island, SC to help start a rum and vodka distillery.

Missing the diversity of whiskey, he reached out to the owners of Burnt Church Distillery in Bluffton, SC who had developed unique mash bills and recipes for their products. He has been the Head Distiller at Burnt Church Distillery since 2020, distilling their core whiskies from South Carolina grown grains. In addition he has developed a series of innovative yet-to-be-released whiskies also made from local grains. Peter resides in Hilton Head Island, SC.
