Pat Gotschall

Years of Participation

2019-2020

Originally from New Jersey, Pat has worked in the hospitality industry since he was 14. In 2011, he sought a change in pace and scenery and moved to Charleston, SC, to attend the College of Charleston. He studied Business and Hospitality but found he missed the restaurant world so he jumped back in as a cook at popular Charleston restaurant, Basil. In the summer of 2014, Pat joined to the Park Cafe team, first as a server, but was quickly recruited to the kitchen as a line cook, where he quickly grew as a chef and as a leader with the beloved neighborhood restaurant. He has had the opportunity to perfect a variety of the cafe’s original dishes, and introduce new favorites such as house-made pastas. In addition to planning the Park Cafe’s seasonal menus, he works with Charleston’s top farmers and purveyors to source the finest local and seasonal ingredients so the menu remains consistent, fresh, and interesting. The monthly family-style neighborhood suppers give him and the kitchen staff the opportunity to mix things up with themed menus and bring back classic dinner dishes.
