All hail the Virgin Islands! I am Orecia Hughes aka Chef O’Lovely, born and raised in the perennial summer paradise of St, Thomas, USVI. My culinary beginnings came from many days as a youth in my late grandmother’s restaurant and many summers in Anguilla, BWI with my aunt and uncles who are very successful culinarians. After moving to Charleston, SC I became an avid admirer of the Gullah/Geechee community and culinary culture as it reminded me of home.
