Nick was born in London England and grew up in the beautiful countryside of the Cotswold's He attended school at Bristol University followed by Manchester Business School. At Manchester he spent 6 months at UNC where he started his long running relationship with the Carolinas.

After graduating Nick built global food and fashion brands for Unilever and Clarks shoes based in London and Paris. Tired of the corporate treadmill in 2017 he returned to the Carolinas to open The Hackney Restaurant & Distillery in the beautiful historical waterfront city of Washington NC with his business partner Susanne Hackney.

Nick learned to distill in his kitchen while living in England.. It was there he started developing our award wining 1000 Piers Coastal Carolina Gin recipe, which took 3 1/2 years to perfect.

Nick is focused on the distillery side of the business. For the first 3 years of the business he did everything including distilling, sales and marketing. As the business has grown Nick now focuses his efforts on developing new products, sales and marketing.

1000 Piers gin is now widely available in ABC stores across North and South Carolina.
