Mike Magee is an accomplished culinary professional currently based in North Charleston. His passion for cooking was ignited during childhood moments spent in his grandmother's kitchen. After earning his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, Mike honed his skills with over nine years of diverse cooking experiences in Charleston including competing in Boone Hall’s renowned Lowcountry Oyster Festival.
From his tenure at Wood and Grain to private chef engagements, Mike eventually found his culinary home at The Longboard, where he now serves as Executive Sous Chef. With his robust background, Mike has excelled in guiding the vibrant team on Sullivan's Island where his food philosophy revolves around sourcing fresh, local ingredients, and bridging Caribbean flavors with the southern charm of Charleston. Through the restaurant’s coastal offerings, Mike aims to foster community engagement and create a gathering place for locals.
Beyond the kitchen, Mike finds joy in outdoor activities like fishing and kayaking, as well as spending quality time with his beloved dogs, Shiloh and Olive, and friends along the scenic shores of Charleston.
