Hailing from San Diego, California, Gingerline General
Manager Maureen Samu has been immersed in the food
and beverage industry since a young age. Maureen now
credits her career in mixology and recipe developing to her
grandmother, who was constantly in the kitchen, while her
marketing studies at San Diego State University honed her
skills for creating guest engagement and driving sales.
Prior to joining Gingerline, Maureen served as the opening
bartender for Positivo at the Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto
Rico, Director of Recreation at Wequassett Resort and Golf
Club in Cape Cod, and food and beverage manager at
the Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C. Maureen also served as
the first food and beverage director for Seven Restaurant
Group from 2021-2022, including concepts Seven Reasons
and Imperfecto, led by chef Enrique Limardo. Under her
leadership, Imperfecto received a Michelin star for The
Chefs Table, and she supported the launch of the Amazon
Culinary Experience, set to open in Crystal City, Virginia in
2023.
As general manager of Gingerline, Maureen is responsible
for the operational performance of the restaurant, as well
as overseeing the guest experience. Maureen will also be
the forefront of Gingerline’s robust beverage program with
a focus on colorful, bold cocktails.
