Years of Participation
”I was born to cook, having been raised in a home that celebrated both southern and Italian cuisine,” shared Chef Matthew. “I’ve got a soft spot for southern fare, and am thrilled to be working with the Queen Street Hospitality Group team and doing what I love every day.”
Chef Matthew’s background includes a wide range of culinary experiences ranging from dive bars to food trucks to fine dining, including studying organic cuisine in Asheville, working as the Protein Chef at Middleton Place, and most recently owning and operating Rocco’s Italian Sausage in West Ashley. After having to shut down due to Covid-19, Chef Matthew joined the Florence’s Lowcountry Kitchen team as Sous Chef before taking over as Executive Chef in February 2021.
