Matt Tunstall is co-owner and beverage director of Stems & Skins and Three Sirens in North Charleston’s Park Circle neighborhood. Tunstall’s wine education was influenced by hands-on experience, and he has been a professional wine steward for over 15 years. After college, Tunstall moved to San Francisco to study food and wine where he had the opportunity to work with many top chefs and sommeliers. He has assisted in organizing beverage programs with styles ranging from classic to funky. Tunstall moved to the Charleston area in 2009, first working with the Sanctuary Hotel at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Next, he headed up the wine program at Husk Restaurant for four years before teaming up with Justin Croxall to open Stems & Skins in January of 2016. Under Matt’s direction, the wine bar was named one of the most important natural wine bars in American by Food & Wine magazine in 2016 and nominated for a James Beard Foundation award for “Outstanding Wine Program” in 2018.
