Originally from Alabama, Marie grew up in Charleston. After working wine harvests in Napa and Austria, Marie studied sustainable food systems in northern Italy, where she and her future husband and business partner Edward Crouse met and fell in love...with the food and wine culture of Europe (and with each other!!). She then made her way back to Charleston and joined Grassroots Wine in 2012 where she now oversees sales for South Carolina. Marie and Edward opened babas in 2018, and have two children (both with hearty appetites).
