Madison Tessener

Years of Participation

Madison spent her childhood cooking beside her mom, and knew by age 8 she wanted to be a chef. A track scholarship brought her to the College of Charleston, where she earned a BS in Hospitality and Tourism. Despite having no formal culinary training, Madison showed up at the kitchen at Fig, offering to take out the trash for a chance to work there. She stayed on a year, eventually moving to the Glass Onion and Husk, concurrently. Six months of European travel fired up her imagination, and she came back to Charleston and worked at Charleston Grill and McCrady’s where she was named Sous Chef.
