Lynn Hobart

Years of Participation

2022-2024

Lynn Hobart is the owner of Seol Ah's food truck. The first and only place in South Carolina where you can find authentic Korean corn dogs! Lynn is originally from New York. In her twenties she worked in the Empire State Building. Right next to her work was K-Town (Korea town). She would frequently eat Korean food for lunch and go to Korean bbq and karaoke at nights and on the weekends. Lynn was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to the U.S as a young baby through an adoption agency. Her parents Libbie and Gene made it their priority to have Lynn know about her culture. Specifically through a program at the local university called Big Brother Big Sister. Lynn was 7 years old when she first learned how to make mandu (Korean dumplings). About two years ago Lynn noticed there was a lack in Korean foods, and specifically Korean street foods. During Covid she taught herself how to make Korean corn dogs and the rest is kind of history. Her truck goes all around Charleston to different breweries, neighborhoods, and festivals. She loves connecting with people and hopes to start doing more private catering and Korean corn dog making classes for 2024.
