Growing up in the country’s smallest state, Chef Lauren Vershon made her way to one of the largest food destinations, Charleston, SC. Raised in South Kingstown, RI, Lauren attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence. While completing her externship at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head she found her love of the resort/hotel scene. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Nutrition, Lauren landed herself a job at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, South Carolina’s only Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond hotel. Climbing up the culinary ladder, Lauren was named Sous Chef of Jasmine Porch, the hotel’s essence of southern charm. In 2016, Lauren found herself relocating to another luxury hotel, Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston as Chef de Cuisine. Since her arrival, she’s completely revamped the restaurant’s culinary program and incorporated her own spin on small-plate dining.
