Kevin Spencer is a Rochester, New York native, coming from the school of hard knocks with 20+ years of culinary and leadership experience in luxury hotels, free standing restaurants, concept development, and opening execution. Spencer has a strong record of teaching, mentoring, and elevating his teams to the next levels as well as his outside the box creativity that helped his teams receive recognition in the respective market. One of these Recognitions was Orlando Leisure’s Silver Spoon award for most creative Steakhouse Chef. Spencer has a great appreciation for local in every sense. He wants the food to tell a story of where they are and where they came from through the history of the region, the cultures who helped influence it, and the people who catch, grow, raise, and create the products that he uses in his restaurants. Spencer began his career in culinary at Walt Disney World where he quickly gained appreciation and reverence for the kitchen and food. With a new found love Spencer cultivated his career in numerous markets such as Dallas, Austin, Key West, Orlando, Nashville, and now in Charleston as Executive Chef of Sunsets waterfront dining. Spencer lives the ideals of humility and believes “You are worthy of my best”.
