Karen Stabler, Executive Chef of Grace & Grit, hails originally from the Bronx but has been a part of the Charleston culinary scene for over 20 years. A graduate of Charleston’s Johnson & Wales University, Karen focused her career as a sushi chef for 12 years in the area, notably starting sushi programs for The Ocean Room of The Sanctuary on Kiawah, the original Boathouse on East Bay St. and Caviar and Bananas in Downtown Charleston. Chef Karen originally met chef/owner Frank Kline working together many years ago and came back together to help open Grace & Grit in 2017. An integral part of the team since the very beginning, Chef Karen was recently named Executive Chef in 2022, and continues to bring great experience, drive and dedication to the table, helping to make Grace & Grit what it is today. A powerhouse combo chef, wife and mother of 2, she loves hanging with her amazing kids and husband in her spare time.
