John Perkins began entre:underground, an underground restaurant in 2008, holding monthly secretive dinners around St. Louis. In 2013 he ran a series of pop-up restaurants in the space that is currently Juniper. The second of those, A Good Man is Hard to Find, was a southern themed pop-up and served as the inspiration for what later became Juniper. Juniper opened on October 16th, 2013 and quickly gained a reputation for thoughtful and delicious versions of Southern food and cocktails. Perkins relocated Juniper in September 2018 to 4101 Laclede Avenue, allowing an authentic extension of the brand and extensively growing its kitchen, dining space and offerings.
