Jeremiah Schenzel

Jeremiah Schenzel is a formally trained chef turned bartender and bar manager. Extensive knowledge of culinary flavors and familiarity with an array of cuisines shape chef Schenzel’s approach to cooking and making drinks.

Prior to Charleston, Jeremiah Schenzel worked as an opening kitchen member at Bergamot Restaurant in Sommerville, MA. and development chef of the Clover Food Company. Experience opening new restaurants instilled a strong sense of confidence within chef Schenzel, providing a foundation for him to become an opening member of The Macintosh Kitchen team where he trained under James Beard Nominated chef Jeremiah Bacon. In 2013 Jeremiah became the general Manager of The Cocktail Club where he honed his skills on the management and bar side of the restaurant industry. These skills readied him to open Bar Mash in the fall of 2015 in which is also managed and assisted in creative development alongside The Cocktail Club. In 2016 Jeremiah Schenzel took the full time position of Beverage Director of The Indigo Road-overseeing 14 beverage and bar programs across 4 metropolitan areas. In December of 2016, Schenzel departed The Indigo Road and joined on as the beverage director with Scarecrow Hearth and Liquor bar. Here, he further honed his skills and was the creative force in opening The South Seas Tiki Lounge. Most recently he and Nick Dowling have opened Daps Breakfast & Imbibe.
