Chef Jennifer McCoy joined The Dewberry opening team as Pastry Chef in 2016. With over a decade of kitchen experience under her belt Jennifer has built a pastry program at the Dewberry that is a happy blend of both rustic Southern American, classical French cuisine and comfort food. Her passion for pastry began many years ago while working at a local Friendly’s Ice Cream Parlor where she grew up on Long Island, NY. Chef Jenn was fascinated by the ice cream making process and the endless possibilities of flavor combinations. After graduating from Johnson & Wales University with a Bachelor’s in Baking & Pastry, Chef Jenn moved south and developed a love for local, simple, honest food. Throughout her career, Chef Jenn has had the privilege to work for many talented Chef’s including Pastry Chef Cicely Austin, Executive Chef Wes Morton, Celebrity Chef Art Smith and James Beard Award winner Jim Lahey. While Chef Jenn's experience stems from several different areas, she has found a home in Charleston at The Dewberry where she aims to continue sharing her passion for desserts through her experiences, travel, and love for food.
