Growing up in St. Louis, Glenister Wells’ passion for food was only matched by his love for rock-n-roll, and he simultaneously served as the drummer in local bands while working his way up from dishwasher to kitchen lead at a small bar & grill in Cottleville. In 2015, after a few stints at various local eateries, Wells joined the Niche food group as a line cook at Pastaria working under chef Ashley Shelton (James Beard nominated Rising Star, and Best Chef Midwest). He quickly established himself as a natural leader displaying both talent and passion for his craft and was soon promoted from line cook to sous chef. Chef Wells commitment to sourcing locally as often as possible, and his desire to learn more about the rich culinary heritage of the South makes his executive chef position at Juniper an exciting opportunity to continue his own culinary education. Juniper recently relocated in September 2018, allowing authentic extension of the brand and extensively growing its kitchen, dining space and offerings.
