Emily + Jody Towe

Emily and Jody started J. Brix Wines in 2009 with three barrels in their two-car garage. Since then, as a two-person winemaking team, they have grown the winery into a small but mighty standard-bearer for the California natural-wine movement. They make as many as 16 different wines per year, working with incredible vineyards all over the Golden State.

The J. Brix wines have been featured in The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Wine Enthusiast, Bon Appétit, Vogue, and more.

A couple since high school (ask to see their prom pictures!), Emily and Jody live and make their wines in San Diego. They are the parents of two mostly-charming teens – and one exceptionally furry rescue dog.
