As Executive Pastry Chef at Charleston’s staple all-day brunch concept, Millers All Day, Carolina Domínguez Lopez is a natural talent - transforming and elevating the program at only 19-years old. Drawn to a fast-paced environment that allows her to express her creativity, she joined the Millers All Day team in the summer of 2023, crafting elevated fresh pastries each morning for the two Charleston locations, as well as for the concept’s food truck. Born and raised in Charleston, her family has been cooking her entire life - her dad owned pizza restaurants in Mexico, while her mother and aunts have always baked for the community. By 11 years old, Carolina began baking with her father as a way to keep herself centered while dealing with anxiety. Her professional career in food and beverage began at 16 years old when she took her first job in fast food. Since that time, she has demonstrated her skills at numerous events, earning recognition for her contributions to the culinary arts. Seeing her youth as an asset to the role, Carolina brings a “young energy and passion” to the kitchen. She recognizes the challenges of the industry but finds solace in the support of her team, which she describes as both encouraging and instrumental for her growth. Known for her consultative and visionary management style, Carolina fosters a collaborative environment within her team and learns from her teammates while, in turn, they learn from her. In Carolina's free time you can find her playing with her beloved dog, Mila, exploring different bakeries, traveling, attending concerts, or reading and writing poetry.
