Shannon Mustipher is a Brooklyn based spirits educator and consultant, who specializes in rum and cane spirits. After opening the rum focused bar at Glady’s Caribbean in 2015, Shannon has gone on to consult with a number of brands to create educational and tasting experiences for consumer and trade, at festivals and conferences including Tales of The Cocktail, Bar Convent Brooklyn, The Family Reunion and Honeyland Festival, and more. Her first book, TIKI: Modern Tropical Cocktails (RIzzoli/Universe 2019) was the recipient of the IACP Best New Title in Beer, Spirits, and Wine in 2020,. The same year, Shannon was named the recipient of the Pioneer (now Catalyst) Award at Tales of the Cocktail and inducted into the Dame Hall of Fame. Shannon’s recipes, opinions and writing have been featured in various media outlets, including CBS Mornings, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Bon Apetit, Imbibe, Liquor.com, and others. When she is not tasting, or teaching on the topic of rum and rum cocktails. Shannon enjoys travelling, cooking, gardening, and “collecting too many books”.
