Years of Participation

A graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Mary Andrea Schowe has been the chef at several premier locations on Saint Simons Island, including the 2017 Silver Spoon Winner, Ember. Following her graduation, Mary raised heritage poultry and grew vegetables on a 60-acre farm in Maine. From field to table, Mary’s culinary career has covered every aspect of food production and preparation.

Chef Mary is known for her sense of humor, mentoring style and true commitment to sustainable cooking and farming. Currently, Mary is working with the Southern Soul Team while she explores opportunities using edible native plants and foraging on the Southeast Georgia coast.
