As Herd Provisions’ executive chef, Jeanne Oleksiak crafts creative farm-to-table dishes with a strong focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients, including beef from Leaping Waters Farm in Virginia. She draws on classic French, Asian, Italian, and Latin flavors, reinventing them with a fresh, innovative approach that prioritizes quality and local purveyors.
Raised in the South and based in Charleston, Oleksiak began her culinary journey alongside her mother in the kitchen. Initially pursuing veterinary studies, she shifted to her passion for food, attending Trident Technical College and the Culinary Institute of America. After graduating in 2007, she honed her skills at Poogan’s Porch, Lana Restaurant, and Park & Grove, discovering her love for reinventing classic dishes.
As a leader, she motivates her team while continually learning from the chefs around her. Outside of the kitchen, she enjoys time with her daughters, dogs, and cooking for her family.
