Co-Founder + Head Coach of Rhapsody Fitness | Host of Rhapsody Radio Podcast

Alan Shaw grew up in Southern Indiana on a farm near his family’s limestone quarry. Most of his days were spent exploring caverns, jumping on hay bales and riding his ATV in the woods.

Graduating from the Interlochen Arts Academy, Alan moved to New York in 2004 to pursue acting. Finding his feet in musical theatre, Alan owned roles including Huck Finn in Big River, Cain/Japheth in Children of Eden and on Broadway in Les Misérables.

During his time on Broadway, Alan found a passion for health and fitness which inspired him to complete the rigorous CrossFit NYC Coaching Mentorship Program and pursue founding a gym of his own.

He and his headliner husband, Trinity Wheeler, left The Big Apple to open Rhapsody Fitness in Charleston on July 14, 2018. On the heels of its first anniversary, Rhapsody is one of the fastest growing gyms in Charleston comprised of a thriving community of hungry, humble and happy members.

Once showmen always showmen, Alan and Trinity launched Rhapsody Radio on Apple Podcasts and Spotify in 2019 sharing stories, stitches and somethings of significance from featured guests including Gaten Matarazzo from “Stranger Things” and former ESPN sports reporter Kate Fagan along with Lowcountry movers and shakers.

When he is not coaching, you will find Alan on a beach somewhere, kayaking the intercoastal or hanging with his clown car of pit bull pups – Ricky, Sawyer and Huck. Learn more about Alan at www.rhapsodycrossfit.com.
