Years of Participation

2019-2020

Rich was born and raised in Columbia, SC. From a young age he knew he wanted to become a chef. This childhood dream was realized at the age of 15 when Rich was offered his first restaurant position as a dishwasher in his brothers restaurant. In 2010 he enrolled at the Art Institute in Charleston, SC, earning a degree in Culinary Management. Rich worked in restaurants throughout his education, eventually working his way up to Kitchen Manager at Taco Boy. This is eventually where Rich met his wife Alanna, they are now happy married, and raising two beautiful children. After nine years at Taco Boy Rich made the decision to take on the role as Kitchen Manager and Chef at Poe‘s Tavern on Sullivan’s Island where he is excited for new opportunities with an incredible staff at one of Charleston’s most-popular landmark restaurants.
