POSITION TITLE: Ticketing Assistant

REPORTS TO: Guest Experience Coordinator

TERM: January 6 – March 9, 2020


The Ticketing Assistant will work closely with the Guest Experience Coordinator to develop, support, and execute Charleston Wine + Food’s ticketing policies + procedures. This person will troubleshoot customer service issues, be the point-person during check-in at large ancillary events, and support the badging, access, and security processes.


Work with Charleston Wine + Food’s Guest Experience Coordinator to maintain positive guest relations and resolve any ticketing issues

Have an extensive knowledge of festival events, scheduling, and programming in order to make powerful selling suggestions to guests

Help manage all phone, web, and on-site ticket sales

Support ticketing and volunteer teams in preparing wristbands, badges, working credentials, and packets; assist with packet pick up as needed 

Assist Guest Experience Coordinator to ensure entry into events is seamless + timely while also maintaining the integrity of the ticketing guidelines

Act as a point of contact for ticketing staff and volunteers

Work independently and make decisions as necessary to provide an exceptional guest experience

Utilize ticketing software to process orders, manage guest lists, run reports, and handle check-in 

Have acute awareness of how each event is laid out and what the check-in process will be for each event; solve for bottlenecks + long lines as necessary

Exhibits excellent guest experience skills and can lead volunteers in delivering the best in the world guest experience to attendees + participants

Acts as a brand representative of Charleston Wine + Food and portrays our values of people first, community, diversity, and good stewardship

Recognizes + uses our higher purpose as a guide in every decision made on behalf of the festival: to be a catalyst for connections that inspire curiosity through thoughtful storytelling and meaningful experiences with a sense of place


Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with high attention to detail

Be present on-site at the festival March 4-8, 2020; assist with set up + break down in the Culinary Village pre- and post-festival, as needed

Be present at staff winter retreat, January 8-10, 2020

This position requires working full days (up to 10+ hours/day) during the festival (March 4-8); in the weeks leading up to the festival, this position requires approximately 10 hours/week working in the Charleston Wine + Food office

Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekend hours

Able to work quickly, cooperatively, and collaboratively under pressure and with a variety of people

Comfortable working in an outdoor setting (rain, cold, heat, mud)

Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) as necessary and stand for up to 8 hours

Use of personal computer that is able to access the internet and run cloud based apps

Use of personal vehicle during festival week

Use of personal cell phone that is able to access the internet and run cloud based apps
