Before joining 5th Street Group, Cook began his culinary career at 14 years old working at an exclusive resort in his hometown of Geneva, NY. After getting a taste of working in hospitality and finishing his bachelor's degree in finance at the State University New York at Brockport, he completed a 60-day stage in Quito, Ecuador at Chez Jerome, a French restaurant under chef Jerome Monteillet. He then took his newfound fine dining knowledge to Charlotte, NC in 2018, where he met chef Jamie Lynch of 5th Street Group.
Cook describes his cooking style as rooted in simplicity with touches of creativity in his techniques and sourcing of ingredients. Going beyond the role of a chef, Cook considers himself a storyteller when it comes to sharing his dishes with guests.
When he is not working, Cook enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs whether it is spent hiking or going on long walks around historic Charleston.
