Years of Participation

Steve Mangano founded CurEat, a positive, national restaurant-finding app – often referred to as the Spotify of restaurants. Food & Wine Magazine praised it saying, “This App Gets Rid of Bad Restaurant Reviews and Replaces Them With Picks From Top Chefs.”  Mangano’s vision has helped him to cultivate a community within the CurEat app; over 100 award-winning chefs and food and beverage industry experts from across the US have embraced CurEat and are featured within the app as “CurEaters.”

Mangano received a degree in hospitality management from Florida International University and an MBA from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, before working for Hilton Hotels in Miami and the New York area, and consulting with Fortune 500 companies and international clients. Mangano is a graduate of Leadership NC and has been involved numerous urban revitalization projects in downtown Durham, NC.  In Raleigh, he was one of the driving forces behind Pullen Place Cafe at Pullen Park, a café serving local, seasonal, sustainable food to a local historic children’s park.

With the creation of CurEat, Mangano marries his love of travel, deep appreciation for the culinary community, technology experience, and his entrepreneurial spirit by creating this positive restaurant-finding experience.
