Ryan Cunningham

Years of Participation

A Buffalo, New York native, Ryan graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2009 at the age of 19. After an internship at Alleghany Country Club outside Pittsburgh, he moved to Charleston and cut his teeth cooking in several of the city’s top kitchens before joining the team at The Grocery in October 2012.

Ryan notes that his favorite part about being on The Grocery team is the opportunity to work with incredible local ingredients in an open kitchen, hearing directly from the guests how much they enjoyed their meals. When not in the kitchen, you can find him watching hockey, exploring the Lowcountry’s restaurants and listening to live music.
