Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Jonathan “Rusty” Tucker grew up in a home that thrived on the joy of entertaining. With Southern hospitality flowing through his veins, Rusty believes that there’s nothing quite like bringing people together over delicious food.
Alongside his wife, Beth, Rusty sharpened his culinary skills at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina, where they cultivated not only their cooking prowess but also their passion for creating unforgettable dining experiences.
In 2009, they returned to Birmingham to make Rusty’s dream a reality, opening Rusty’s Bar-B-Q. Over the past 15 years, they’ve transformed their vision into a beloved local institution, known for its world-renowned, pit-smoked barbecue, mouthwatering sides, and delightful homemade desserts.
At Rusty’s Bar-B-Q, guests are treated to an authentic taste of Alabama, all served with the warmth and charm that defines true Southern hospitality. Their culinary excellence has not gone unnoticed, earning features in prestigious publications like Southern Living, Men’s Journal, and Food & Wine Magazine.
