Paolo Dalla Zorza, a native of Northern Italy, started as a gelato maker (gelatiere) in 2000. Now with his 2 locations in Atlanta and Charleston he was inspired to expand all things gelato, and now, wants to show the low country his love for fine Italian cuisine with his new storefront, “Paolo's Gelato and Gourmet”, located in downtown Charleston, SC. With a partnership with Conca D'oro Imports in NJ he was able to bring the finest italian products like you would see on the streets of Italy in his store as well as his ecommerce company.
Paolo was one of the first people to open people to open up shop on Upper King alongside Rue De Jean serving now 3 generations of families. In 2018, he remodeled the store where you can now sample northern Italian small plates called Cicchetti, serving pastas, pizza, and risotto paired with his Italian draft wines and Spritzes besides his small batch authentic Italian gelato and desserts.
