A true nomad, Chef Michael Harvey’s culinary journey celebrates authenticity, delivering a unique dining experience as the Executive Chef at Alcove Market.
Chef Michael’s worldly view of food and culture has been shaped from his many travels and time spent working across the United States, from Hawaii to Vermont. His path diverged from a finance degree at Virginia Tech after discovering the flavors of the Lowcountry while visiting with friends. Later, Chef Michael pursued a culinary education at the New England Culinary Institute, which guided him towards honing his skills in bustling New York City kitchens and refining his palate for fine dining.
Venturing to Cape Cod, MA, Chef Michael thrived in luxury country club settings and embraced challenges by spending his mornings at French bakeries before returning to the kitchen. Eventually, Chef Michael returned to Charleston at Cassique Gold Club on Kiawah Island and planted his roots.
With over three decades of experience, decorated with acclaim from his award-winning menus, Chef Michael orchestrates an unparalleled dining experience at Alcove Market, seamlessly integrating his expertise into every aspect. Honoring his taste for fine dining, and exemplary craft of redefining Lowcountry flavors, guests indulge in the freshest tastes.
Outside of the kitchen, Chef Michael is a familiar face at his church, perfects his golf swing on the course and cherishes moment with his family.
