Matthew Ward is the Executive Chef of the Grand Bohemian Charleston. He oversees Eleve Rooftop Restaurant & Lounge, the Bohemian Wine Bar, Maison Café, in addition to hotel In-Room Dining and Banquet culinary operations. Prior to this role, he was the Sous Chef at Charleston Grill, which was awarded a Forbes 4-Star Rating.

Prior to that, he worked as the Chef de Cuisine at Bistronomy by Nico and Nico Oysters and Seafood.

He is a local to the Charleston area. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and his master’s from Charleston Southern University.
He and his wife Heather have been married for ten years and have two smart and wild boys, Gus and Max. When he’s not in the kitchen, you can find them exploring our State Parks or relaxing on the beach. Edisto is their favorite! They enjoy all things homesteading and creating a more sustainable home.
