Marcello Lambert

Years of Participation

My name is Marcello Lambert; I am a husband, a son, a brother, a chef, and a black man. These are five important pillars that make me not only who I am, but who I will become. My culinary journey began my sophomore year in high school in my when I took an intro to culinary arts. At the time, I was working my first job as a steward at a local country club where I worked to develop my skills as a cook. After high school graduation, I enrolled at the Art Institute of Charleston to earn my bachelor's degree in culinary management. During my stay at The Art Institute, I developed my skills working as a Chef-de-Partie at the Mills House Hotel where we did full dinner service and catered events. After earning my bachelor's degree I went to work at Edmunds Oast as a line cook eventually and moved my way up to a Sous Chef position. For my entire career as a professional chef, I aspired to be a chef for the people, and "One More Bite" allows me the opportunity to do that. Before the year 2020, the idea of being a private chef was buried under self-doubt and the feeling of not being "perfect". My fate lies in my own hands, I choose to take my five pillars and allow them to continue to drive me to be the best person I can be. Do not doubt that the love and passion that I put into my food will shine from the first bite to the last.
