Jonathan Kaldas

Chef Jonathan I. M. Kaldas is a born and bred Charlestonian of Egyptian descent. Having graduated from the Culinary Institute of Charleston, he’s been a staple on the Charleston food scene most of his life.

Chef Jonathan is proud to have served on the American Culinary Federation team for South Carolina for several years. Chef has been fortunate enough to work alongside Chef Frank Lee and Chef Ramon Taimanglo both of whom left an indelible mark on his style and execution. Chef Jonathan recently took the helm at newly opened Uptown Social where he has designed the entire menu focusing on elevated comfort bar food. Under the tutelidge of Brooklyn pizzaiola, Anthony Falco, Chef Jonathan has quickly garnered much attention for one of the best pies in Charleston.
