Jesus Carlo “Jelo” Tria is the Executive Chef of Two Bit Club, a new restaurant rooted in Vietnamese flavors from The Indigo Road Hospitality Group opening in downtown Charleston, SC in the spring of 2025.
Born in Manila, Philippines, Chef Tria developed a passion for cooking by watching, helping, and learning alongside his mother as she cooked for their family. Growing up in Southeast Asia, Chef Tria was exposed to an array of different styles of cooking, including techniques and flavors with Vietnamese influences. At the age of fifteen, he moved to the United States where he immediately began his career in the culinary industry as a cook. Chef Tria continued to follow this passion which led him to attend the Culinary Institute of Charleston, where he studied Culinary Arts and Sports and Health Nutrition.

Before joining the Two Bit Club team, Chef Tria honed his craft as the chef at several Charleston hotspots, along with curating private dining experiences with a focus on Asian cuisine. Although he’s well-versed in a variety of culinary styles, he felt a strong pull to reconnect with the flavors of his roots. At Two Bit Club, Chef Tria is excited to showcase a fresh take on Vietnamese cuisine by blending both classic and unexpected dishes to offer something distinctive to Charleston’s dining scene.

When Chef Tria isn’t in the kitchen, you can find him spending time with his wife and two children and staying active playing pickleball, basketball, or video games.
