Years of Participation
I was born in Kabul Afghanistan and moved with my family to Germany when I was 14 years old. I learned my art of cooking from my Mother and since I was the youngest of 8 siblings my full attention was put into the kitchen. I came to the United States with my husband and immediately devoted my time to culinary interests. I purchased a Food Truck and served standard afghan quisine. I soon discovered I could not use my talents with only a food truck.
I opened a restaurant in Goose Creek named the Kabob House. I could specialize in some typical Afghan cuisine as Kabuli, Polow, and others. I have recently sold this restaurant. I am now devoting my time to my neighborhood grocery store in Summerville and working with the Afghan Refugee Program locally.
