Executive Chef at Hotel Bennett
Edgar was born in Mexico City to a Japanese household, allowing him to learn and appreciate a fusion of cultures at an early age. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and has served as Executive Chef globally across the Four Seasons portfolio for the last 13 years including Mexico City, Bora Bora, Vancouver and Atlanta. The Hotel Bennett team welcomed Edgar as their new Executive Chef in January 2023, where he will lead the culinary program across the 179-room luxury property in the heart of downtown Charleston and it’s four unique dining outlets, focusing on the fine dining experience at Gabrielle. Edgar speaks four languages, enjoys Japanese, Mexican and Classical French cuisines, and loves to take in different cultures and gastronomy through travel.
