Doug and Brandy Svec moved to Charleston in 2010 from Chicago to continue their culinary careers. They fell in love with the city, eventually settling down on James Island. Doug's extensive background includes years in the fine dining sector, a stint as a farmer on Wadmalaw Island, and a short-order diner chef. Brandy started as a vegan and raw food chef, before transitioning to Pastry, and then finally running multiple operations for a local restaurant group. Doug and Brandy started Foxes Fried in the summer of 2019, as something fun to do in their "free time". By the summer of 2020, it became a full time job for both. They currently spend their time working the food truck circuit, making dumplings from scratch for their pop-up concept "Crab and Crane", and enjoying time with their two children.
