Chris Najmola (AKA Naj) is a native South Carolinian who has a vision to bring international cuisine with a Southern flare, to Aiken, the “Best Small Town in the South”.
Chris’s father is of Polish descent from Pennsylvania, and he has roots in the South, with his mother’s family dating back to the colonies.
“We’re surrounded by Southeast American food (which has much more culture to offer than most seem to give it credit for), but my Father and Grandparents on that side cooked differently. Galumpkies, Perogi, Keilbasa, and Sauerkraut were staples. On the other hand, my Mother’s side has deep Southern Roots…my Grandmother knew how to gather the family around a table of Pot Roast, Root Vegetables, and Greens from the garden. I was spoiled and didn’t know it.”
Surrounded by a great team, what he promises to every patron is that Fuse will continue to explore the cuisines of the world, constantly looking for the next “Wow” moment. Chef Chris’ desire is to push boundaries and think outside of the box.
