Bobby grew up in the heart of Sonoma County’s wine country, but his journey into the wine industry began later in life. After spending a decade in the restaurant business, he decided to pursue his passion for wine, returning to school in 2012. Bobby earned a degree in Wine and Viticulture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and returned to Sonoma County to launch his winemaking career. Starting in the cellar, he steadily worked his way up, gaining hands-on experience and refining his craft.
In 2018, while at Kosta Browne Winery in Sebastopol, Bobby met Jaam Moynihan. The connection sparked a shared vision, and in 2021, they co-founded Joseph-Jibril Wines. Naming the project after their middle names reflects their belief that winemaking is deeply personal.
Their wines are crafted with care, showcasing vibrant, fresh, and distinctive profiles. Committed to sustainable practices, Bobby and Jaam use native fermentations and minimal intervention techniques in the cellar, working with organically farmed grapes from small, family-owned vineyards.
