Alex Anderson is the Executive Chef at Indigo Road Hospitality Group properties Mercantile & Mash, The Cedar Room, and Bar Mash in downtown Charleston, SC. Throughout the three concepts, Anderson leads with creativity and precision to ensure all properties run smoothly and guests have memorable dining experiences.
The Pittsburgh native has always been drawn to creating, naturally gravitating towards the art of cooking. Her mother encouraged her to dive deeper into this passion and pursue a career in the culinary industry. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu with a degree in Patisserie and Baking, Chef Alex kickstarted her culinary career in scratch bakeries. She then worked in multiple roles during her decade at Bass Pro Hospitality, serving as Executive Banquet Chef at White River Conference Center and leading staff training for new concepts. In her current role, Anderson balances bringing careful attention and knowledge to each of her four concepts while embracing the fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
When Chef Alex isn’t in the kitchen, you can find her taking her dog on adventures while exploring her new home in the Holy City.
